After 25+ years at his company, he is finally retiring. What’s lovely about this is that for the past few weeks, everyone he’s ever directed, worked with, or really even know at this company has come to him/back to tell him how much they appreciate him and everything he’s done for them. Needless to say, my father is overwhelmed - I don’t think he ever realized how much people really appreciated him. It also helps that the stresses of the working world will now melt away as he’s allowed to actually relax for the first time in his life. Tonight will be the first time in my entire life that we’re able to sit down and actually watch a movie together without him worrying about getting off an e-mail or typing away on some report. And I plan to enjoy every moment of it.
